David's wife works in my office.
I work with David.

Im not necessarily venting my frustrations (although I am still single) My comment was more based out of what Ive seen over the years...if you get a real keeper you treat her like she is a) the only girl on the face of the earth and b) the most priceless treasure out there because I will say that its hard at a place like this I will say to find a girl like that.

This is true.

But man, I feel sorry for them if the wife found out where they were all night...

well sorry if things arent all gumdrops and puppy dogs for you RTF. I will say that they know its not perfect (what marriage is) but that doesnt mean they dont still love each other the way they did before they got married. My parents will be married 34 years this December and they still hold hands in public, have date nights, and God has blessed them in ways I cant even imagine and Im glad that they are the kind of example I would want to emulate in my own marriage just like their parents were to them (my dad's parents were married for almost 45 years when his dad passed away, my mom's parents for...gosh...I cant remember but it was a VERY long time...before her dad passed away).

Touche...

Anyway it should be said that with the greater number of single girls on campus than single guys (I may be wrong on that) that maybe the single guys on campus ought to step it up a little more and not spend their time trying to get soem girl taht is already with somebody to break up with them and maybe take time getting to know the single girls.

Also, anybody notice how every semester within like a month you have freshmen already coupling off (either with other freshmen or with upperclassmen *Im lumping sophomores in with the juniors and seniors in that regard*) and they are posting every day on each other's facebook walls about how much they love each other and how they are ready to get married and grow old together?

no, but I hate it when all of these immature kids get enaged because it makes the fact that im engaged less special, like in the sense that theyll let anyone do it these days, theres no minimum IQ or nothing.

In all seriousness, Liberty should do more for pre-marital counseling, and do more training for couples than just clayton King, because an embarassing thought is that people like in the original thread will someday get married, and the infatuation will wear off, and they will get divorced.

Plus they only offer pre-marital counseling on wednesday nights. Me and my fiancee have to be at church in appomattox on weds, and the pastor there wont do pre-marital counseling(nor would we want him to), so what are we to do now?

Hey Rue, my wife and I got married at 20 and 19 at LU and we have been happily married for 10 years now. Don't have on young people getting engaged, hate on idiots getting engaged.

Find a Pastor that will do PM counseling. We did ours with Pastor Tim at Heritage Baptist Church but we were attending Grace Church. It worked!

My sophomore year.... we had 12 brother/sister dorm couples. 2 couples are married, but the other 10 relationships including mine are done. I found the ones who went psycho over each other dies out first.

As for the dating Jesus, Im sure everyone has a story about how they knew a guy who was dumped for something close to that. And that story includes the girl dating a different guy within 3 weeks.

depending on how close they were, Im not sure this is the same thing. Its natural for couples to hang out and watch movies, and I think some of what you described comes with the territory of LU's rules and limiting where couples can be.

Its not like people on here are complaining about couples that actually go on dates, thats normal. Were talking about the people who are too infatuated with one another to keep their hands off eachother 24/7
