Ok since we're still sort of discussing the ignorant opinions of this "preacher", I will share my encounter with this attitude. I was on one of the LU music teams and we always put out literature about the school at the churches where we sang. At one church - the pastor refused to let us put out some lit with a picture of a male LU basketball player - he going up for a lay up. The picture was taken from below - the pastor claimed that you could see the guys genitals in the picture. Apparently he had x-ray vision or a good imagination or he was staring at the picture for way too long.

Back to Ben Stein... I just saw 'Expelled' and I enjoyed it. I know some people think that the Hitler / Evolution connection was a stretch, because you have had monsters throughout history that have killed, and they didn't need evolution to back them up (and in many cases, those monsters killed in the name of religion), but he was right. Evolution helped the Nazis justify its killings, and helped the United States justify some pretty abhorrent laws... Buck v. Bell anyone?

Ed, did Stein tie evolution to the eugenics movement (in Germany and the US)? A great read on a similar topic and one that shows why we are in our current political mess - is Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Facism. I do need to see Expelled.

Yeah, evolution is survival of the fittest, which devalues the weak and infirm. Stein mentioned this. He talks about the US in passing, with Planned Parenthood.

My review of the movie: About 40 minutes in, I kept saying 'all right, I get it, these guys got fired for teaching intelligent design', and that went on for about 20 minutes until he brought up the Nazi parallels, and then it hummed along for the last 35 minutes. Excellent film.

EL-OH-EL. I've always wondered if guys like this let anybody else read their stuff before they go ahead and publish it.
"Hey Jim Bob, how does this sound, 'Women have been giving birth to children for the last 6,000 years without the aid of male doctors, and yet Christians today seem to think that a woman must expose herself to a male doctor in the name of medicine. This is totally ridiculous and contrary to God’s word.'"

"Gee Billy Ray, I don't know. Didn't a high percentage of women die due to child birth complications as recent as 70 years ago?"

"Good call. Glad I let you look it over before I made myself look like an idiot. By the way, what's your take on medicine and hospital care in general. A sin hands down right?"
i wonder if he went to this school

this is phenominal right here:

2nd Place: "Women Were Designed For Homemaking"

Jonathan Goode (grade 7) applied findings from many fields of science to support his conclusion that God designed women for homemaking: physics shows that women have a lower center of gravity than men, making them more suited to carrying groceries and laundry baskets; biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, making them the natural choice for child rearing; social sciences show that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; and exegetics shows that God created Eve as a companion for Adam, not as a co-worker.

What a ministry He had.

"Verily, did the Lord smite the sinners with the flying clothesline maneuver. And He did take hold of the cross and smite His accusers between their legs and, lo, their stones were engorged."

The Role Of The Baby Jesus In The Trinity

There seems to be some confusion on the Internet, which I will endeavor to now clear up, about the point of our Baby Jesus page and exactly what role the Baby Jesus plays in the Trinity.

Firstly, what is the nature of the Baby Jesus? Put simply: The Baby Jesus is a temporal prosopon of the Logos hypostatic branch of the Trinity and is the conduit through which the circuit of Agape is grounded in Humanity. Like all the hypostases, the Baby Jesus is a fully integrated, homoousian manifestation of the Trinity, having two natures, both Infantile and Divine -- Baby and God.

Whereas the supra-adult Risen Christ provides us with Love and Care, it is through the Baby Jesus that we are able to return some small amount of the same, as His innocence elicits our purest emotions. Although Earthly Human love is relatively miniscule and thus cannot fully, or even substantially, repay His Love, God knows that without providing us this spiritual release valve, Humans experiencing even a small part of the Infinite Love contained within the Trinity would be so overwhelmed by guilt at being so infinitely unworthy as to be incapacitated, both physically and metaphysically.

The Baby Jesus transmogrifies the unfathomable vastness of Agape into something a Human can hold in his or her arms and care for. He is, if you will, a friendly user interface to the Holy Ghost. We see then that God had a Purpose for manifesting Himself on Earth natally instead of simply appearing in a fully adult form: The very existence of the Baby Jesus Himself is an act of Love and Caring, for by our being able to love and care for the Baby Jesus, we are able to safely share in God's Love and Care, thus completing the circle.

It is for this reason that we implore visitors to our site to not forsake the Baby Jesus. For without His Cooing Grace to Humanize the Awesome Infinitude of God's Love, those on the verge of accepting Jesus into their hearts may become confused and disoriented -- experiencing a sort of Agapic vertigo -- and fall prey to the many Internet predators working for Satan who seek to lead them astray. Many a potential Saved person has been lost for lack of proper focus on the Baby Jesus.

Please, don't let this happen; help get the word out that the Baby Jesus just wants to be loved. Is that so much to ask for Salvation?
http://objectiveministries.org/pastorsc ... 06-19-2003

Apparently, if we dont spend enough time focusing on the baby Jesus (which all I can think of is Ricky Bobby, a movie im sure this guy has never seen), we will lose our salvation?

man this site is great, hours of amusement. Read the staff bios.
Dr. Franklin has battled Satan up close and personal on many occasions, yet he always manages to come through unscathed thanks to the power of Christ.
and then the guy below him, Diamond Jack, apparently single handedly ended the cold war. AMAZING

glad yall enjoyed Ben Stein, he is truly a character, his son went to PC from 2006 through the first semester of 09 i believe, but he married a girl from PC who was a pre-med major and they are now out in california where she is going to grad school and he is finishing school. Ben Stein has spoken at PC several times and refers to it as Shangri-La or something. Spoken to him several times and his son hitched a ride with me to class a few times. His wife's dad is a Presbyterian minister, and when he spoke at PC for one of our CEP's i think he fell inlove with the place and wanted his son to go there.
