Since we all know how many people you know....ive heard from multiple sources that LU bought Cattle Annies.....not sure if it was mentioned anywhere already. You got any scoop?

I also have said many times in this forum that the one time i actually wrote to the paper and used my name, i ended up on the flamesfans site with my home phone #. These people are powerful and scary, i’m sure in my bones there is a list..

back on topic, this lake is a perfect size for a slalom course. I know someone who competes and she said this is 2x the size of the area that their course is set up it, and it is official size.

HMO, if i'm not mistaken this lake has close to a mile long straightway on it. how much area do you prefer to wakeboard on?

Considering who he lives with, and who he's around quite a bit during the week, there's a good chance he actually knows.

Speaking from my personal experience, managers of restaurants and entertainment establishments are prone to speak about things which they are not qualified to speak. If the statement came directly from the owner, that would be a different story. A statement by an anonymous (although not anonymous to everyone on this board) poster who happens to live with someone that might be in the know is worth as much as a manager that stated otherwise in an unofficial capacity.

Unless the manager actually owns the place, I wouldn't give much weight to his rumors. I'm not giving out my sources, if you don't believe me i don't care I'm not trying to prove anything. I was just stating the fact that the rumor isn't true.

LU is a hot topic around town...everyone at some point or another will say LU is buying anything remember back when there was a deal in place for the mall? For whatever reason that's just the way Lynchburg is, just a month ago I called about purchasing a place around here and they were asking about 4x the actual worth so I dropped it and about 2 weeks later I got calls from 4 or 5 different people saying they hear I'm buying it...it's just the way it is I guess.

I'm not saying LU has done this (b/c I honestly dont know ANYTHING about this or have even heard anything) but with the economy the way it is, its not a bad idea to simply call and get feelers from local businesses that are prob losing money and seeing what their asking price would be if they were to sell if it's something you think you could put to good use. Then the rumors start from people saying so and so is buying this place when it was really just a simple question asking what their price would be, could be for several reasons, 1. try to get a good idea of how much property is worth in that area b/c you own something nearby 2. You are actually interested in that current location.


I have the feeling Jdub was speaking to the right people to know if the information is correct or not, he's mentioned a few things in this thread that is obviously from the same person that I was hearing things from and it's someone that would have had to be involved to say the least....so he deserves our trust, for the time being

I disagree, it's a great building that can take more people then any other building in our area for that type of atmosphere and the location can be very good for some...CA's has done well in the past, I dont think they are doing that great right now but who is

And the clientele doesnt matter...example, if a business wanted to buy it like Genworth they wouldnt look to keep it open to the public except for public events, they would use it for their employees now if a investor wanted to buy it he obviously is looking to keep it open in the same realm that its currently be operated in so the clientele would matter

people always have said that LU or TRBC was trying to shut down establishments who didn't exactly align with their beliefs. the rumor years ago was that Doc shut down hooters, which was also false. The people in Lynchburg just do everything they can to talk trash about LU or spread rumors. Just read the comments on the article on Ivy Lake in the fishwrap and see what the retarded locals have been saying. Its clear they just make stuff up that is wayyyy off base
