Where was this? On the mall property somewhere?
Near Macy's. If you leave Cookout, drive to the mall through the light and take a left (to head towards food court), I am talking about the building that was on the left.

I like the one with the top floor perspective . I'm guessing that's the view from the new Alumni Association headquarters, seeing as the Chancellor/Prez said he didn't see why it couldn't go in there?

that I could hang out in every 2 yrs when I get down there
maybe the top floor of the new tower?
JLFJR wrote: PA, good thought on the Alumni Association. The new SC should have plenty of room for that! We'll make it happen!
JLFJR wrote:SC or the Tower, I should have said. Another good thought!

PA, BJ messaged me and said you were constantly asking about the alumni center. Alumni Hall at UVA is a good example of an alumni center that is available for groups of alumni to rent for various events. We have decided that the best location for a center like that will be in the new Student Center. I mentioned that alternative and one in the School of Divinity Tower months ago. The SC option won out because it can accommodate large groups for meals and social events. The new SC includes an event space large enough to accommodate nearly 700 for banquets and even more for meetings and social gatherings. The room will overlook the new academic lawn in the center of campus and will feature easy access to the new parking garage. It will create the perfect venue for alumni groups to visit campus. We are excited about this addition to campus. In the interim, we have been using the Williams Stadium Club Level for similar events but this has not been optimal because all the couches and other furniture have to be moved out and stored for each such event. The new Alumni Center will resolve all these difficulties and create a dedicated space/ ball room for banquets and alumni events of all types.

Thanks for the update JLFJR. I have a feeling that Medic was hoping for something more on the order of a cozy lounge to hang out in with a view of the campus and complimentary beverages and snacks. 8)

PA, do we have an Alumni Association with a staff seeking office space? If so, I am sure we could negotiate a fair rent rate. :D Seriously, I would like to see our alumni organize to raise funds for certain projects on campus. We are still a very young university but I don't think this is too far out in our future. Thank you!

I agree, POTY nominee. Its b/c of the LCA scholarship (followed by a GA position with the tennis teams) that I'm able to make donations back to Liberty.

Definately wise to put this on the back burner til we see just how much renewed interest McKay and company generate. I understand the reasoning of those who like the idea of a packed house, but I think the potential is there to have that in a facility with a capacity of more than the 4500 which was proposed.
