Its been a while since I've seen a response from you. I like you're sense of humor. I personally would've never thought that JR would've been kicked out by the BOT. I thought he would've retired in the and that to could have taken 10 or so plus years before this could have happened. I think it is terrible what is he and becki have done to their lives and their families lives, I hope they can move on. I don't want to continue to wallow in JRs mess and I want LU to move on expeditiously. The BOT needs to be fired and we need new BOT that will bring in a new President that can bring us to the next level spiritually, financially, and academically; of course athletically.

Since Jr likes his sexual escapades, he probably flew there since prostitution is legal in Tijuana. The women get a permit from the local department of public health to work as a sex worker. The permits are contingent on them getting examined by a physician, and getting clean bill of health, and free of any STDs. There is a red light district there that many American like to frequent. I used to know a guy I worked with who worked for an NGO to provide these women assistance to get out of that lifestyle.

Unless you have family member living in TJ or manufacturing business interests in TJ, most American's would go down there for the beaches, but those are usually that live on the west coast. I wouldn't believe that JR would go down there for beaches and sun bathing, especially since there are closer and more beautiful beaches nearby in Florida or the Mexican Gulf.

Was N71LU the plane Jerry was using? I noticed that C&c Aviation Llc is the owner with an LU address and its flight history is blocked on fightaware (although there are still ways to get this info).

Due to the circumstances, the flight history of the jet Jerry was using should be made public. There are reports out there that there were flights to Tijuana last summer (not sure if its with this LU plane). I'd like to know what official LU business we have there.

Ian McCaw and Hugh Freeze are both Jerry hires, right? At the very least, they both have (have had?) a strong relationship with Jerry. Will either start looking at other jobs with him gone? I agree neither hire happens without Junior. But why start looking before you know what’s next? I would imagine Athletics will still be given a sizable budget but not the current “blank check” that especially football has enjoyed If they like it here and are able to do their jobs why leave?

Whoever takes over would be a fool not to try to keep them around, but yes, they both owe a dept of gratitude to JR for giving them a second chance. HF in particular because of how JR helped him with his health crisis, which let's face it, was pretty awesome. not gunna lie; as a fan, it worrys me.

Not many P5 schools have as good of a staff overall, as Liberty does. When McCaw and Freeze were hired, LU hired the 2 best candidates in the nation, at the time.

Ian McCaw, Hugh Freeze, Richie McKay, Dot Richardson, Cary Green and Scott Jackson should all be given a lengthy contract. We do not want to lose any of these individuals.

I think everyone in athletic department is going about doing their job, and not getting caught up any distractions, on campus, if there's any.

Whoever new president is, I hope he's smart enough to realize how good of a coaching staff LU has, including AD's office.

Many folks who have direct knowledge but still love the university even after leaving it have kept this from coming out sooner.

I'll add that another reason people haven't spoken up is because litigation is often terrifying. Especially when it's your personal resources against those of a university.

So I am pretty sure I stayed at this hostel back in 2014 (maybe 2015?) and it was wild. I have stayed at hostels in NYC, Chicago, New Orleans and all over Florida. This Miami beach hostel was more crazy than the one I stayed at in New Orleans and that was during the Mardis Gras weekend.

The hostel was was really more like a club that happened to have a dormitory within it. As soon as you walked in the door, it was a straight up party. It was hard to get someone to check us in at the front desk and communicate with them about our reservations, because that front desk area was packed with people drinking and loud music that was blaring. The attached liquor store wasn't IDing the kids coming through (one of the other hostel guests tipped us off and the one under aged person in our group may or may not have purchased something from them). The music downstairs from the actual hostel dorms was so loud that our walls were vibrating and we could barely hear each other. This went on till around 4 AM, I only remember that because I couldn't get to sleep because of all the noise and ended up passing out from exhaustion after the clock hit 4. Everywhere you went in the hostel, there was people drinking, dancing/dry humping and smoking. When I say people, I mean kids that seemed between the ages of late teens and early 20s, with a few creepy old guys sprinkled in (for reference I was 26 at the time and the youngest in our group was 20). The hostel was also dirty as hell and badly maintained, the same beer bottles and garbage just sat on the stairs for the 2 days we stayed there. That first night we stayed there, it sounded like someone was trying to get into our room sometime after midnight. At first we just assumed it was someone that was drunk and lost (that they were trying to get into the wrong room), but later on we started thinking that whoever was trying to get in assumed we were out doing stuff and were attempting to break in to steal our s#$^!t (since it was just a little bit after midnight).

The second night we were there, some a#$^!e started running down the hallways and pounding on all the dormitory rooms' doors around 2 AMish. After a couple rounds of that, we ended up going to the front desk to complain (the staff didn't seem too concerned about taking it seriously). Whoever the a#$^!es were, they did stop for a few hours... ....only to start back up again even later on in the night. At this point, we were running on such little sleep and were exhausted from the Miami heat that we just gave up. We did hear someone come out of their room (on our hallway) and confront the people who were pounding on the doors. This person had a thick and deep Eastern European accent and sounded totally ticked off, their confrontation quickly turned into screaming/yelling and it sounded like a real fight was going to break out. We could hear more people going out into the hall to see what all the commotion was about. My friends and I said #!@& that, the whole experience in the hostel was a total nightmare and we absolutely did not want to get involved.

After all the b#$^!t that went down the second night, we decided to check out early, try to get a refund and test our luck with getting another cheap room somewhere near Miami beach. When we went to the front desk, the dude running it refused to give us our money back not just for the nights ahead that we were canceling, but also for the two nights we spent there not getting any sleep or peace. He tried to tell me that this was the hostel experience and that this is what people expect when staying in one. This dude started to become a total jerk and was super smug when he said that crap to us. I told him, nah dude, I primarily stay in hostels when I travel and this place was a total crap hole that had no respect for our guests. I told him that this hostel wasn't even close to being on the same level as the absolute worst hostel in NYC or anywhere else in Florida. He only refunded my money after I said I was going to call my credit card company to get my money back, along with calling the police to complain about the level of underaged drinking that was going on in their premises. Now usually I wouldn't do something as weak as snitching on underage drinking, but after all the cowplop we went through during those 2 nights and the front desk dude's crappy smug attitude, I just said #!@& it, I am not putting up with this anymore (plus all the money I spent on booking that room/beds was a lot of cash to me back then). We ended up finding a cheap cabin at a state park in Northern Miami that was totally awesome, finding that place saved our vacation and made up for the awful first two nights.

In retrospect, knowing what I know now, that hostel was probably just a cover for what Jerry Falwell Jr. really wanted, a night club in Miami Beach. The hostel dorms were a total after thought compared to the high energy party atmosphere and the attached liquor store. It really was just a s#$^!ty club that happened to have dormitory rooms for people to crash at. Now that I know about Jerry Falwell Jr.'s and Liberty University's connection to it, the whole thing makes perfect sense. It really was like what a person with a strict religious and conservative background would think is a fun Miami party experience would be like. The whole hostel thing was just a cover up so the people associated with Liberty University wouldn't find out that it was just a sh#$^!ty flophouse full of underage drinking, sex and drug use. Honestly, I have stayed in actual flophouse that were more fun and respectful to their guests than that s#$^!t hole. I guess the one silver lining is that my friends and I got to experience a part of history since that place will end up bringing down and disgraced Jerry Falwell's son. #!@& him and his s#$^!ty hostel.

Edit: I had to look it up and sure enough, it is the same place I stayed at. It seems like this writer had just as bad of an experience as my friends and I did a couple of years ago.

Yeah, I remember the article about the flophouse coming out and it barely registered with people. That is why it is really weird that it was some weird picture posted on Instagram that ended up being the last straw when there is so much stuff out there that is so much worse.

I don't know much about Dr. McFarland, but he's spoken out more than most others who are currently on the board.

I had several interactions with Dr. McFarland when I was a student in the 90's. I knew several of his children and fellow students who were a part of his church. At least at that time, there was no one more upstanding, humble and godly than that man. I trust him to have the best interests of the university at heart. His children were some who spoke out against Jr recently and he was one who went to Jr to try and correct him. I would say he is undoubtedly one of the good guys on the board. I would trust him to help pick up the pieces here.

This is another reason a student paper should be free to publish without interference. It can act as a check against corruption and hidden agendas. For all its flaws, the fourth estate does frequently work.

Suspect his employment agreement was airtight and the board had little room in which to maneuver (which they obviously allowed). At least I hope so as I'm extending a generous benefit of the doubt. But when I learned about the hostel cluster in Miami, which could have easily been verified by the board and they did nothing, the more it seems that the benefit of the doubt is grossly unwarranted.

So that leaves us with the other possibility that our board is stacked with a majority of spineless soy boys who are just like the numerous other "church" leaders that inexplicably cower and wilt and protect the deviant at the expense of the victims and they let Jerry drag his speedo clad, indignant bollocks across the face of all who love our savior and LU on his way out.

The more I think about this the more ticked I get. My wife and I and 2 immediate family members are graduates, had our degrees handed to us by Doc himself and because of our recommendations, numerous extended family.

Honestly we all should be right ticked off and focus our anger on restoring LU's leadership and not simply let the remaining "leaders" announce the path forward. I have no idea how to do that from halfway across the country. Many on this board are so much closer to what is going on in the burg but we should all be very vocal about fixing this in a FULLY transparent and God honoring way. And I don't mean marrying this to some never Trump agenda that the Save71 group seems to be obsessed with.

And Provo honoring Jerry today at convo They could have edited that out if it was recorded days ago. But I fear we are being lined up for another typical christian scandal whitewash job that almost all of my christian friends and family are completely sick of. I can just picture the giant hoard of crisis managers and pr consultants running around campus racking up the overtime as I type this.

He's definitely damaged goods and will likely find his options limited. Based on his communication "skills" it would be surprising to see him as a media contributor but I have seen crazier things the last few years. If it were me I would take my money and relocate somewhere I wouldn't have to run into people I knew everyday though Miami would probably not be the ideal location.

I don't see Jr. seeking a life in the public domain. First, I doubt he would work for anyone else. Second he is a very poor speaker and would likely screw up royally, with another alcohol induced stupid comment.
Gerb, I am sure the BOT has already hired a PR firm. I think it is a prudent thing to do. However, the end result must be 100% transparency with the finances and hiring process of a new president.
As per my fears, I am deeply disappointed in Prevo's firs public statements regarding the entire sordid affair. He is just proving that his age and his abilities do not match up with the leadership we need. Hopefully, we can bring some stability to the situation sooner rather than later. There is only one real answer to the problem short term. IMHO.

Where did Trump make his money? Real Estate. Falwell Venture Enterprises could make a lot of money with Trump International connections. Keeps him out of the Public eye. I know this forum really doesn't have any pull, but I just want to every once in a while harp on a 3rd party investigation.

Is anyone aware that a former Liberty Law prof (as recent as last year) created an organization to investigate these kinds of matters when they happen in churches? I dont know if they can handle a university but they're at least worth consulting. They've got some big names in this field they work with.

I had an AP reporter call to ask my reaction to everything going on at Liberty.

Because of my fear of retribution from Jerry - even though I’m a nobody - I recorded the conversation on my end to have proof of exactly what I said.

Imagine what people who actually know things feel like.

Or people who work for the school.

People are so scared of being sued that they've been bullied into silence.

We're talking employees worried the University is reading their email or listening to their phone calls.

Past employees using burner phones to pass along information because they feel they're putting their family in danger.

All of this at a Christian university.

That's why we need an independent investigation into everything he did while president.
