Hope he has been putting aside the $$ he is saving by living in that house the school has provided for him . Not likely he'll find a deal like that on his next gig.

Being that he is a con man and a giant suck up, I don't see him going anywhere and making even 20% of what he makes at LU. IMHO.

I've thought about this and its not exclusive to Nasser, I wonder how many people leave, voluntarily or involuntarily, now that Jerry is gone?

Nasser specifically? I think if he leaves it'll be voluntary at some point unless information comes to light that he was aware of any of Jerry's behavior.

What do your #sources tell you?

I guess it depends on how the board decides to go about this. If they bring in an outside group to do some sort of audit or investigation then I can see a lot of people being let go or leaving on their own. If they decide to keep things in house then your guess is a good as mine.

I'm not a huge Nasser fan but really appreciate these thoughts he shared at Campus Community tonight

The fact he applogized makes me think he was speaking about leadership. Himself included. He was speaking to the students.

I really think that Nasser should have shown more courage to speak out when Jerry began his antics. He, instead, cowardly seemed to provide cover for Jerry. That in and of itself suggests that he knew of the full extent of Jerry's behavior. Regardless, I completely disagree with how he entertains the Steve Furtick/Carl Lentz types. Wish he went deeper into theological issues, instead of staying surface level and sticking with an emotions-based Christianity.

Side note, this does not change my opinion on what his future should hold but it was good to see the issue not being ignored.

I was critical of how it was ignored earlier today so I've got to give them credit when they don't ignore it.

That would be a big move. I thought you said LU only needed minor tweaks?

This is really the first time we've ever seen Falwell's years of misconduct addressed by anyone in senior leadership. It's a good first step.

However, we'd be remiss not to notice that Nasser himself has been a huge stumbling block for many young Christians over the years that he's enabled, supported, and sometimes explicitly defended Falwell. He's caused many to question their faith. He's done a lot to silence the moral convictions of many others, by using his office and his authority to intimidate people.

Apologizing for the embarrassment that Liberty students have experienced is a good first step, but he has a long way to go before he makes things right between himself, the school, and the student body.

Replacing the person in charge of Campus Spiritual well being is a big deal Not a minor tweak. You obviously are ignorant as to what that position actually entails

This has always been my biggest criticism of him and why he should move on.

I do appreciate this step and think it was the right thing to do but it is too little too late at this point.

The spiritual manipulation from Nasser is where I drew the line. That’s when I crossed over from personal preference to wanting him gone.

I grew up in that atmosphere. I can see it from here.
