The farthest I'm willing to go is Marietta and Belpre. Otherwise, look out--Ohio has some serious country.
Ever been to Marietta College? Really nice looking campus

I haven't been yet...but I've heard good things.

You're like a more tactful version of Lieutenant Dan in that scene with the shrimp boat in the storm.

OK...this is not weather related, but I ACTUALLY did go to Wal Mart yesterday and I could not find a FLIPPIN' thing!

The one shortly after noon was pretty good too. I think it may have lasted longer though.
No kidding...I got into Wal-Mart (seriously) right before the heavens opened...it sounded like golf balls pounding on the roof in the store.
sounds like we were there at the same time

Well, that's what happens when a store decides to renovate and rearrange to be more modern and similar to other, newer wal-marts.

On Channel 13, they were talking about whats known as "Bow Echo" developing in the system thats getting ready to hit LBurg in the next hour or so. For those who do not know, a bow echo is when a line of thunderstorms takes on a curvy figure that resembles a bow, like the kind you shoot arrows with. Apparently when it does that it tends to mean that the storms are more severe. Maybe tonight I will be impressed...

In other news, Appomattox got slammed last night.

man, last night was killer. I don't wake up during the night very often. I sleep through children crying and who knows what was going on when Mallet was my roommate. But last nights storm was nasty. I thought my neighbor's houses were exploding.

apparently im one of the heaviest sleepers alive, or the storm last night sucked on my side of Lynchburg.

I think LC is firing their warning signal, they just sent out the same email that was sent out the last time they fired it off...

Pretty nasty here...I'd imagine it's pretty bad in LBurg, too.

There was a big storm here in PA last night. I was in Lancaster but it hit Elizabethtown pretty hard. Hopefully I don't have to drive back in storms the entire way tomorrow.

Mu uncle owns an apartment complex in Elizabethtown. He always used to bring us sweet bologna from some place there. That sounds good right about now.

With all of this rain the past month or so, is there a significant flooding threat yet?

We're actually in a drought, if you can believe that

There are some places in and around Richmond who had flash flood warnings the past two evenings, but to be honest there is no immediate threat of flooding. We were in such a drought just 2-3 months ago that we are just now recovering from that.

What's the deal with this area lately? About a month ago we were tornado alley and now this month it's like south Florida with ridiculous T storms everyday.

We are along a stalled out front...that the upper level winds can't kick out...and with moisture being pumped in...it sets the stage for numerous afternoon and evening Thunderstorms.
