It really is a shame that those stupid comments have gotten lost with Haize playing devils advocate and poking logic with a stick.

Who sets the spiritual tone at LU? Is it Johnny Moore? Is he really the schools rep/RP guy? He just single-handedly changed the school's worldview from a biblical one to a butt-kissing-a-secular-conservative one. Aligning ALL OF US, in a sense, with Donald Trump. When did we start pretending this was a guy to emulate as opposed to just admiring his business sense? Who should be the spiritual PR guy for the school with JFSR gone?

Great question.
And isn't aligning me with the Devil a personal attack? So typical of The Christian Right :x

Personally, I'd like to hear what Johnny has to say about it.

That's the only reason I haven't said anything.

I've never been a huge Johnnie Moore fan, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says nothing, then I can only believe what Trump's people said and what they said makes me mad.

From Johnnie's facebook page:
Johnnie Moore wrote: Does God "get even" with his enemies? Of course He does. He gives lots of grace, but he's also one tough character.

True, I guess I am assuming the quote was accurately attributed. The article says it contacted Moore to check on the accuracy of the quote but it never says the result of that.

That is still a very poor choice of words.

Watched it live ... I wondered more about Trump attending, than I did about Liberty inviting. Donald is a promoter and a great one. He promotes himself as a tough bushiness guy and his properties as elite. I wondered why a man who gets hundreds of thousands of dollars to speak would come to Liberty for free? My guess is, it was his idea ..... because he saw something in Liberty and it's students he admires and the country needs. He made the "tough guy" commit about getting even and was visibly uncomfortable about it as soon as he did it. He tried to back out of it. He brought up prenuptial agreements, not a bad idea for older couples getting married with $ assets, children and grandchildren from a previous marriage. I think it would have been inappropriate for Johnnie Moore to make a statement that made Donald feel unconformable. I see even better things in Mr Trumps future, and not just money ..... sounds like he's looking in the right direction!

What would Jesus do? I see a lot of similarities in business and sports .... if Jesus was a defenceman on the LU hockey team and a forward from the U of Oklahoma swooped around him and scored a goal ... you can bet the next time down the ice he would hip check him into the boards given the chance. Make him think twice before he tries it again. Business and sports, play hard, play fair and at the end of the day shake hands and be charitable with your spoils!

It certainly is interesting, because during the Old Testament it is clear God does exercise judgment. However, Christ comes and offers forgiveness of sins for those who will believe in Him and repent. But yet, Ananias and his wife were both struck dead after the descending of the Holy Spirit.

I'm not saying I agree with Johnny Moore's comments, but there is some basis for it. But I think it would be wrong to say that God "gets even".

Just my $0.02.

Well that's up to him...course he may not want to just because BYD's mind is probably already made up and no answer would be good enough regardless but even if I did tell him about it, that's his call as to whether a comment is warranted
