No talk of the possible storm next week? This is where I come to get my weather info :)

I have heard anything from rain to 12-18" of snow...depending on time of day it hits and the track the storm takes...

This is the first I've heard of it. I'm going to be consistent and say something along the lines of: we won't get any accumulation in Lynchburg.

I saw updates on Facebook about the possibility of snow on 3/6 from friends in Raleigh and Richmond...WAVY-TV 10, as of this AM, was forecasting highs for the tidewater area close to 50 w/ rain in the evening.

My prediction for Lynchburg: no snow.

I've very skeptical. But it's certainly worth watching. I'll be updating it starting in the weekend, if the Euro stays bullish on the storm.

I won't bore you with the details, but basically conditions for the storm looks favorable, but the pattern doesn't match up well.

Yeah, last night's 0z Euro showed this. I'll post the map but imageshack is fighting with me.

Sorry guys I take one day a break from FF.com and everyone's mad at me :D

Sorry I can't upload the map directly, FF.com won't allow it but here's the link. This is the worst case scenario, and probably overdone. I've been watching this potential since Monday, but I never want to bark 240 hours out, especially when you're in the bulleye. It rarely works out that way.

Model runs tend to put Richmond in the bullseye. Still snow for Lynchburg looks likely, and maybe even VA Beach, depending where the low stalls.

Yeah. Way to wait till the first of the month to tell us to go to Wal Mart. Not like it isn't usually slammed today anyways. You are slipping man. :?

I'm sure it's one one of the previous 30 pages, but what sites do you check for long-range models, jblock?

Not my map, but this is the latest 12z Euro run. Probably too far west in my opinion, and overdone.

Here's my first guess.

Roanoke: 7-10
Lynchburg: 10-15 (wider range of possibilities)
Southside: 6-9
Richmond 6-9 (possibly much higher)
VA Beach: 2-4

Starts Tuesday, late evening. Bullseye around Lynchburg or Charlottesville. 16 is possible somewhere between there.

Ill update each morning until the event.

I was stuck in snow in Ohio last week and now you are telling me I'll be seeing more in NOVA this week? I moved away to Texas to avoid this stuff. Does it look like DC will avoid most of this heavy stuff?

DC and NOVA, 4-8. Less the further north you go.

Best route and timing for trip to MI? The original plan was to leave Wed night, or Thursday morning… but Thursday morning depended on making "good time." We normally go through Charleston WV & Columbus, OH… but have also gone through PA

Honestly there's really no good way to go. There will be snow on 70 and 81 if you go north, 40 and 77 if you go south. Only other safe option i see is literally swinging down to Atlanta and back up 75. It sounds stupid but other than that you'll be in the snow.

64 and 81 are disasters during snow events. Even clippers snarl up the traffic.
