After initial happiness at Jr’s dismissal, and don’t get me wrong, he HAD to go. I had been vocal of his need to go. I was convicted. The Lord brought to my mind Proverbs 24:17. Jr is not my enemy but nonetheless, my happiness that the board finally took a stand has turned to sorrow and conviction. If not by the grace of God, any one of us could succumb to Jrs struggles and someday be removed from our jobs. I pray forgiveness for me. I pray he gets the help he needs. I pray the Lord be glorified through Liberty U as He always deserved to be. I only say this out of my own conviction and it is not directed at anyone else.
I worked through that feeling earlier because I experienced the same thing.
I want Jerry to get help he needs. I truly want what's best for the person of Jerry Falwell.
My joy and celebration is stemming from the board having the guts to do what was needed for the school. Regardless of who is the president moving forward, a strong board for checks and balances is a giant win for us. We haven't had that before so I will celebrate that they were given the courage to do the hard thing that needed to be done.
