I most certainly would. Dream big.
It's not that far flung an idea. It can be anchored pretty sturdily and doesn't have to be that high

Consider the safety implications though. the south end is where all the foot traffic to the student side is plus you have the flagpoles on that end. Even if you tethered it to the roof of the visiting locker room, you have the concern of something failing and the balloon potentially ending up on the field or in the stands.

You wouldn't anchor it to the roof. The basket wouldn't have to be other than where the scaffold is now. And consider how many people were killed and injured this week at NFL games I think its pretty safe. Besides, who would walk under a tethered ballon? It's very safe. I'm actually liking the idea more and more

bluedevilflame wrote:The way the speakers are set up is an eye sore, I was hoping they were just temporary last season but guess not. Hopefully there's a plan long term for the video board/ speakers.

The scaffolding on top of the visitors locker room as well, I don't personally know how to avoid putting the cameramen up there but it takes away from the big time feel the school is going for.
Where I was sitting on the upper deck, the scoreboard was obstructed by the speakers. I was not at all happy. Not good to have a nice looking scoreboard and then not be able to see it because of a speaker system. I have long thought that the scoreboard is not high enough. Compare ours to JMU, who did it right. If they want to be big time, they need to make look big time.

Speaking of scoreboards, VT just installed a sweet new one.

I'm with the balloon! It could be a Liberty calling card. We could call it Sparky's Nest or something (just spitballing ideas).

The safety logistics could be worked out. Trust me, it wouldn't be unsafe. We have the technology. We can do this.

wondering if its like the Wile E. Coyote thing where we pave right up to it, paint 2 tunnels, then the good guys go right thru and the bad guys smash into the wall.

First off...Im 31 not 35 (no need to add any more years than I already need at this point). Secondly, Im not a reporter at the moment. Third, Im glad to see some significant action on the tunnel finally, and I agree that Sonic will be the big loser when this thing is finished.

Which interestingly enough is not a denial. Nor does it address the Steam Shovel allegation.... Study

How's this for a denial PH (since you apparently can't comprehend what I said before):

I do not hide in bushes anymore (and besides that ONE TIME I waited under a stairwell because I knew I was skipping convo at the time), I will never hide in bushes again and please cease and desist on the jokes connecting me to that. Not to mention, I don't even have the slightest clue what you mean by the steam shovel so please cease and desist on that as well. It was funny the first couple times but I would appreciate it if you wuld please drop that...forever.

Yes...I really wanted to meet the new basketball coach (at the time) and get another picture for my ever growing list of pictures of me with famous people (from Liberty and otherwise) so I went over to the Hancock building after class instead of to the Vines Center and just hoped I didnt run into any RAs along the way.
