WARNING LONG RANT WITH RUN ON SENTENCES!!!

I haven't been on much in the past couple of days, but the VT thing was a terrible thing, and the people need help...but I am sorry, we are not all hokies...we will never understand what they are going through and the overuse of that phrase is just killing me...maybe its me being easily annoyed, but I just can't say "We are all Hokies" without thinking how some kid who coined that phrase is probably going to make some big money off of it....or maybe not...I don't know...The point is, we are not all Hokies, I did not go out to by a VT sweatshirt...and I don't attend to particpate in the millionth VT colors day or join the latest VT facebook group....we all need to keep them in our prayers and pray to God nothing worse happens...but we are not all hokies, we do not need to pretend we are all hokies, we need to pray and show them love....

Ok, end of rant

I agree 100%.

I made the comment about the kid coining that phrase getting rich.

Actually, it doesn't matter who started it, any one of us could copyright it tomorrow and make a ton of money off of it.

I went to a candlelight vigil, and I wore maroon on the national day to wear their colors. I have prayed for them, and I've asked God if there was any way for me to help, to let me be able to. In those prayers, He hasn't told me to change my Facebook picture, or to join Facebook groups, or any of that.

Forgive me if this is not tactful, but when we focus all of our attention on VT and their loss, we completely negate the people in our backyards and in our school that need to prayer and the attention just as much as the people at Tech do. Having a small, 2-minute conversation with "the weird kid" in your class could be the highlight of his week. Being polite and holding a door for someone could make their day and help them realize that not everyone is out to screw them over. We've focused so much on VT that we've forgotten about LU. We've looked at Blacksburg and forgotten that Lynchburg needs just as much prayer. Say I have no heart, say I'm classless, but I feel that we need to pray for those at home more than those in other places (don't even get me started on my missions rant). We shouldn't forget those in other places, but if we all took care of those at home, then at the same time, those in other places will be taken care of as well.

in another thread I followed up on a conversation we had Friday night and mentioned 126 murders so far in Philly THIS YEAR ALONE, many by handgun. (5 more over this weekend)

No one having prayer vigils or special hoodies printed up about that one, just a lot of devastated families.
