What Scorcho really means is...
...we need a good restaurant that will deliver to North Campus at 4 in the morning.

Yeah we do!

Seriously, though, a few more late night options wouldn't be so horrible.

Didn't the Briar Patch in Amherst burn down--twice?

I know it burned down once, i'm not sure about twice. Decent food, had to actually serve food one night there for a Christian service good times though. The owners were real nice. Does anyone remember Pizza planet up there on wards (I get the streets confused, up there across the street from lowes). I think it closed down in 2001. Decent food. They put a Remington Grill there as well that only last a couple of years then they moved up there in the plaza across from the school. That place was decent as well. I gotta get back to the Burg', too many good and funny memories

That's Timberlake. And Remmington went out of business and now it's La Villa. Which is pretty good italian food.

There were actually two different Remington Grills, both of which shut down. It wasn't bad thing. Their food was sub-par for the price. I'm much more happy to have a Five Guys in the place of the one at Wards Crossing.

The Briar Patch did, in fact, burn down twice, the second time within just a few months of re-opening after the first fire. I'm not sure if they've re-opened after fire #2 yet.

but they had unlimited fries. And they were good fries. It was a bit pricey though. Probably because they had to pay for so many fries.

Five Guys has the best burgers in my opinion. They are expensive but they give you your money's worth.

I went there over spring break for the first time...The burgers are very well made and the fries (though its like pouring straight concrete in your arteries) are pretty good too

Enjoy them while you can... the one in Mad Heights closed down and I don't think the one by Target is doing very good

actually the one by Target is doing very well...the only reason why I know this is because my younger brother works there and they have been giving bonuses out like crazy because they have been doing so well

They actually had some of the better barbecue in Lynchburg, although I'll admit Lynchburg isn't exactly barbecue central. Still, NC style is hard to find and they had it. At least we still have Hickory Farms.

That's good to know. I don't eat there often, but I love their burgers and it's good to know they're not going anywhere soon.

Yes it burned twice within a few months. It has been open now about a year without incident. Good diner type food. Wish they did breakfasts. And yes, the Tea Room out in Sedalia--or the boonies as I call it. Actually we were out in Lynchburg for about 15 hours two weeks ago to look at a house we were going to buy. Hated the house and did not have time to eat in town as we got in at around 9pm from DC and had to drive back to catch our flight the next afternoon. That was a nutty trip--Seattle to DC to the burg and back over a 2 day weekend. I was beat at work on Monday. But the house we saw on Spottswood needed so much work we passed on it. Good location but a real fixer that was not advertised as such.

Yes--1664 Spottswood Pl. It would be a rental. Besides the condition the backyard backed up to the Krogers parking lot. Not a good thing. I never noticed that they were that close. There used to be a vacant lot but they squeezed a new shopping center in there.
