Do they charge faculty/staff a fee for parking? Most bigger university charge them as well?

freshman can already only park in the most remote spots on campus. i understand why, i just wish that the price wasn't the same. but from what HMO says, it's gonna be more fair in the future. good news!

Well its actually Freshman under 19.... maybe they just assume youre a sophomore, idk but I dont remember them asking for Classification, because I had to go and print up my ASIST thingy to show them Im not a FR(I am 18 though)

I hope the pit(near 33) is discounted Im moving to the quads(i think?)

Also we have enough parking as it is at this point, so scaring students away from bringing their cars would be pointless. There are plenty of spots near David's place and plenty left near 33. Bad spots I know, but its still spots worth 300 bucks

yeah, i live in the quads and like it a lot. theres normally plenty of parking up front unless you come back close to curfew. even then, its not that far of a walk to my dorm. i'm glad i dont have to walk from there to the circle!

I guess you don't recall, because none of that was right. The only thing I ever had to do to "work the system" in the 90's (even as a freshman) was stand in line to buy my parking pass.
All I recall is what I read in the handbook back then. I guess it's possible the printed parking regulations were out of date, but I clearly remember a no freshmen parking rule in the 90s.

Then again, none of those rules ever applied to me anyway.

If you look around at other Universities we are in the minority for not charing faculty/staff to park (same size University and surrounding lay out)

I'm aware. I think there are probably a lot of reasons why Liberty doesn't charge it's F/S, the primary reason being that they don't pay most of them enough to be able to charge them for parking.

Funny story, though. I work at night. I am usually one of two or three cars parked in the main parking lot at Campus North. One of my cars has a parking pass, the other one doesn't. The other one doesn't because I rarely drive it to work. It's my "beater" that rarely leaves the house anymore. Anyway, of the few times that I have driven it to work, LUPD has ticketed me twice. The lone car in the entire parking lot, ticketed. It just makes me laugh. Oh, and they ticketed me once because they decided to cone off the lot in the middle of the night while I was working. I guess I didn't get the memo. Also funny to see cones in every spot but the one I was parked in.

what ever happened to the boot that they had? I remember seeing cars booted my freshman year, but that was the end of it.

I was a student from 94-98 and freshmen were always allowed to drive but they had to park in the boonies. I also believe that there was an age limit break - for some reason if you were older they would consider you an upperclassman for some things.

Your correct they will base your "status" on when your birthday falls...but just because your a 26 year old Freshman doesnt mean you're getting a Sr decal...

Yes it does, unless they changed it from last year.

I was an 18-yr old freshman with a senior decal...but thats because I moved to East Campus midway through :P

Decals are no longer decided by class status (except Freshmen and Grad Students) but by where you live: East Campus residents get to park on East and in the pit on East. Hill peeps get to park in upper P-1, and Circle peeps get to park around the circle and their pit. Commuters have lower P-1 and the pits.
