I hate slimy sleazy unethical egomaniacal 'business' people who cloak themselves in an Evangelical cape.
Godwin thinks what's best for him IS best for the Institution. Yes, every business needs a 'hatchet man' and that's been Godwin's role for years. But you should keep them on a chain, and use sparingly. Not let them run the place.
I have no problem with Reber doing what he did. But saying 'one person might get saved through a old Bible Program is a horrible justification. You're in business. How much are you going to spend on advertising for just 1 person? What about the negative effects of this? It 'might' save 1 but how many did it turn away? As a business person, its sorta bad to run a campaign that turns more people away than it attracts.
Your dealings with Godwin are by far the exception, not the rule. As for his ability to run the Academic side....it's hard to run something populated by people you disdain.

Really? Your best defense of his argument is to go Grammar Nazi?

I wasn't disputing his argument. I agreed with much of it. But if you are going to go on a rant about how someone has devalued your degree, take the time and effort to type something that makes it look like it is actually worth more than the paper it was printed on to begin with.

You printed this out
With today's devices I cut a lot of slack to typos. His was nowhere near the most egregious I've seen on here and speaks nothing about the value of his degree.
(Having BJ agree didn't help either  )

I was clarifying that comments weren't directed at Proto. But I also am uncomfortable with the characterizations toward the Provost. I am cool with questioning things that have occurred. But some of the descriptions are pushing the boundaries of the posted forum rules. Just an observation among friends.

I'm uncomfortable with the Provost. My comments were not close to pushing the boundaries of forum rules. I was just expressing the kind of person I don't like. If you made correlations, that's on you.

If anything I was taking it easy with my stance on him. I never really liked him but him being the provost even after all of this is the biggest joke of all. Most issues I can agree to disagree but it impossible for me to even stick up for this guy.

With that said this will be the last time I post on this whole issue. It just isn't worth my time. Especially since I know nothing will change.

I don't have money, so my voice doesn't matter.

Ugh, stop it! I said I wouldn't post on this issue anymore. Now I am pulling a BJ, good job!

They are like the old MA Bell skit 'We don't care because we don't have to.' His title may be demoted but he's still behind the scenes.
We should start a poll: What is more SMH worthy His association with the Moonies or his association with a crazy televangelist?
(Neither of whom are exactly hurting for money)
And we'd better be careful cause SLY is getting cranky and BJ may go run and tattle

I didn't really want to start a whole new thread, but to throw some more tires on the fire...

Glenn Beck. Were any of you there last week for convo?

Go to the 3:50 mark if you want to skip the Caner stuff.

Convo has been doing this kind of thing for a while now. I am actually ok with this what I am not ok with is JFjr glossing over Mormonism. I took a cults class at Liberty University not so long ago and the stance clearly was that Mormonism was/is a cult. Have people from all over the world speak at the University but please don't endorse their faith simply for political reasons. It is ridiculous.

So yeah, I am cool with having people from different walks of life speak with the students but it should never be ok to endorse these people.

I m not going to watch that youtube video because any video talking about Caner and LU at this point kind of is behind the times here.
