I feel like this topic has been raised before, but I couldn't find an existing thread.

I'm currently on Sprint and it works fairly well. My company will either continue to reimburse me for my current cell plan, or provide me with a phone using AT&T as the provider. Before I jump ship and get the company phone, I want to make sure AT&T works well around here.

My father-in-law had AT&T when he lived here, and he said it was awful, but let's just say, I don't value his opinions on anything technology-related!

We are new to the area but haven't had any problems with it. The signal strength isn't great but I have never had a dropped call or anything or had any issues talking to anyone on the phone.

You can thank your tax dollars and the NSA for that!

I just did a quick investigation last night… My initial impression was that AT&T & Verizon would be the best choices for voice & data. Have you looked at the AT&T coverage map for where you live/work?

You know we joke but next time I accidentally delete the wrong email or text, I just need to file a Freedom of Information Act request to get a copy. It's like having free backups of all my data.

Thanks all. Yeah, I've looked at coverage maps, and it seems fine. I also don't have a clue what kind of phone my father-in-law was using, probably a ten-year old flip phone :) The coverage map looks good for everywhere I travel (here to South Florida), so I will likely end up using the company supplied device. That should make my daughter happy, she's been screaming for my iPhone for months!

I have family on the back side of the mountain and AT&T's signal there has always been awful for them while my Verizon has been at least decent. When did this new tower allegedly begin boosting signals?

I have family that has a "bad signal" too. They never return my calls.

Where I live it's Verizon or bust. Used to be that way throughout all of Appalachia. Today, not as much.

Not that it answered your question but I find personally Verizon to have the best coverage.
