My goodness I hope so. The local Food Lions are a disgrace to grocery stores. And the Krogers, except for the Forest one obviously, are only slightly better.

Kroger has reinvested in every market in the region with the exception of Lynchburg. They built a great store in Forest, but it serves only a fraction of the population. Their small store in Boonsboro is "cute" but doesn't have the space for the amenities that the population in that area want. I could see Kroger closing both stores on that side of town (Boonsboro and Linkhorne) and incorporating them into one large store on Lakeside. It would suck to have an empty spot on Boonsboro, but given the demographics, it probably wouldn't be empty too long. I've gotten wind of those kind of changes from someone within the city staff, so I think the idea has wheels... but might be a year or two out.
