Now that I'm an old married man and moved in with my wife its time to decide to get D-tv or stick with Comcast. I had D-TV (and love it) but Comcast is currently installed. We're not in a contract so can do whatever.
I cant STAND the current user interface for Comcast although their new X1 system looks nice but I havent heard any talks if it'll be introduced here locally or not. It's pretty much their version of U-Verse or Fios.
Question for Scorcy or other techies....is it possible to keep Comcast but just purchase a 3rd party DVR like Tivo that can use the internet to determine playlists and guides? (I checked on the website and the Comcast Tivo service isnt available yet in the area).
Also another issue is I think we'll have to piggy back off our neighbor (use their structure for our dish too since we're the middle unit on a townhome setup) and she's not the easiest person to get along with so I'm doing everything possible to keep Comcast but have to figure out the DVR setup...heck for all I know Comcast is a lot better and all varies on the equipment you're running...she's running the old school silver box with the red yellow and white inputs on the front. Horrific. Maybe life with Comcast isnt so bad once that gets addressed.
