When I was doing my undergrad at LU, we used to drive up to the bald spot (although you needed a four-wheel drive because there wasn't a proper road). I know the path is blocked off now, so is the best way just to park and walk up? Is there a secret route I don't know about?

everybody parks right at the gate that's blocked off and walks up. But really there's all kinds of no tresspassing signs. I really think that they don't want people up there. I don't know why.

I worked at Camp Hydaway for a few years and there is a trail that goes from the camp up to the Bald Spot. If you get permission from whoever is living on the camp site you may be able to go up that way. I knew the people who used to live there but they moved out a few years ago.

Thanks for the tips. If anyone else has any pointers, let me know. I miss going up there and spotting shooting stars and just talking about stuff with friends. It's definitely one of my alll-time favorite 'burg hangouts.

i've heard that we aren't ever suppose to go up there anymore and that LUPD keeps in eye on it, but I don't think that is true at all. I remember freshmen year going up there, but then whoever owns it decided they didn't want people up there. I don't know what the deal is, I thought Liberty owned most of the land up there...so who knows
