Care to elaborate?
The part i heard was " reasons not to have pre-martial sex"

1. You will get AIDS
2. She will get Pregnant

end.

Oh, ok. I assumed you meant that he said something more salacious recently. He's been saying that crap for years.

Well, he says something like this but with a little more word play. I would post it but I'm afraid it could be against the board's rules...

The new dean: Elmer Towns
http://www2.newsadvance.com/news/2010/a ... ar-472865/

Not sure if this is the smartest move based off some of the quotes he's known for (see those posted on this board, plus other's that haven't), but then again there were probably far worse options.

I think Towns is still a very safe pick for LU. If for no other reason then that he is a known commodity. If his comments were a problem then he already would have been ousted. I also suspect that this move will be fairly short lived as previously mentioned Towns is riding the downhill slope in life. But he can fill a void until an outside replacement can be found and Fully Vetted. I would be shocked if Towns is still the dean in 4 or 5 years. But for now you need someone to hold the position and he is more than qualified.

jcmanson, I kept scratching my head everytime I saw JK37's quote attached to your posts. Then, I finally realized that JK stands for just kidding, then it made sense. LU will always be unique because of its founder but it has retained that uniqueness and enhanced it in many ways since 5-15-07. It is more unique now than ever--just since 2007, it has become the largest Christian university in the world, the largest private non-profit university in the US, the largest four year university in Virginia, now has a fully accredited law school, has added an amazing new stadium, theater and dozens of other facilities, has finally become financially prosperous, all while remaining true to its original Christian mission. No other Christian university in the world can make claims like that. And what could be more unique than Snowflex? I think even our worst critics would admit that, if LU is anything, it is unique. 8)

If you took umbrage with my comment, you could have - and, in fact, should have - come to me privately. I never asked jcmanson to quote it; he chose to do so of his own volition.

That said, and in the interest of full disclosure - I have been realizing nuances of it with which I subtly disagree each time I have re-read it in manson's signature. LU absolutely lost what was the seat of its uniqueness throughout the first and early second generations of students. LU remains unique, but in a different way since '07.

Lastly, in this case the 'JK' does NOT stand for 'just kidding.'

We did lose some of our uniqueness on that day. There's no denying that. However, as you mentioned, we are still a very unique school. I love this school with all of my heart and truly believe it's the best school on the planet.

And don't read too much into it. The main reason I put it in my sig is more of a tip of the hat sort of gesture to Doc. He meant so much to us and I still miss him greatly.

But hey, if you joined and posted just because of my sig then I think I'll keep it up :D
