Texas Roadhouse was the surprise winner in this category a year ago finally knocking Crown Sterling off its throne. Can it muster as much support in 2010?

Maybe someone can help me out with this but I'm not sure if shoemakers would still be classified as a steak house since there re-opening with price reductions at least they probably should be added to casual-dinning. Would you still classify this as a steak-house? I just haven't been since they changed the menu.

Even as a Texan who loves the name, I am surprised by its support. It has always seemed rather pedestrian to me at the same price range as others on the list. But this is all about individual tastes.

Also, if you have not been to the Millstone Tea Room you should be disqualified.

I've had both quite a few times....Crown isn't even close.

Indeed. Texas Roadhouse, Outback, Logan's etc...are the same thing. There's nothing different.

They may all use the same quality of beef, but Outback pawns those other ones listed in their same league.

IDK either I think people get on having never eaten at some of the other establishments in lynchburg and just reconize the name brand Texas Road House. I'm not even sure it should break the top 5...but such is life.

Be glad you weren't around for the restaurant madness tournament we had. It was maddening.

It is Greater Lynchburg ... a large percentage of the options in all of the polls are in Bedford & Campbell Counties.

It was at the suggestion of this board that I recommended my grandfather head to Millstone Tea Room to celebrate his anniversary a couple of years ago. It has officially become his go to upscale option. And if any of you know my globe-trotting grandfather and his refined tastes, that says a great deal to me.

Personally I haven't been to Crown Sterling in a quarter century. Then again, when I visit Lynchburg these days it is with a large family in tow and the Crown is not a practical option.

Even though it isn't really a steakhouse, one of the best steaks I've had came from Robin Alexanders. I've been to shoemakers, crown, all the chains, etc. Shoemakers was good also, but for the price RA's won (before shoemakers redid the menu). Haven't been to millstone

Had a birthday steak this weekend from Logan's. One of the best steaks ever, and it was 8 ounces for only $10.99.
