So, I feel like there was another post about this here already, but maybe not. I can't find one anyway. If there is, please point me there. But...
WTLU has gone digital with a tower up on the hill with the monogram on it. They're broadcasting on UHF 43 with Digital 43.1 and 43.2 as their channel numbers. Channel 43.2 appears to just be an SD version of the digital channel, which is broadcasting at (oddly enough) kind of close to 1080i. According to my receiver it's actually 1680x1050i. Weird.
Also weird is that I'm only a few miles away with a roof antenna (albeit a directional one point directly toward Poor Mountain in Roanoke), but the signal strength isn't stead. It averages about 76% but the signal quality is constantly up and down. 0 to 35 to 70 max. So the picture stutters, gets blocky, etc.
One of the broadcasting gurus over at the AVS Forum was kind enough to provide this coverage map:

I should be getting a solid signal according to that, but I'm definitely not. Oh well.
