According to the special edition Liberty Journal that was passed out in Convo, Phase 1 includes a "pergola along the outside of the south endzone."

There needs to be things legally changed before we can go above 12,000. That doesn't just happen overnight. The improvements aren't specifically for convo.
why is no one else understanding this. Yes, we are capped for the next few years, it wont happen overnight, on and on and on. Odds are, LU isnt going to be sitting on its thumbs waiting for God to create out of nothing new dorms and academic buildings, a better working infrastructure of parking/transit systems, etc. etc. They released the five year plan. Obviously, some things on there are bound to change, but for the most part, so far they have stuck pretty well to it.

Though they may not be specifically for convo, convo is most likely one of the major factors.

That five year plan was outdated the second it was released. Jerry Jr even said this morning, publicly, that we're going to stay at this size for the foreseeable future. He has said before that we're improving the infrastructure so we can catch up with our current enrollment.

I know he has said that before, but the more he says it, the happier it makes me. For way too long Liberty has tried to grow much faster then it should've. I am so glad that Jerry Jr has the vision that he seems to have for the school...he is leading the school in such a positive direction.

He mentioned this morning that we would be increasing enrollment standards in the coming years.

I am sure I wouldn't like it when i was trying to get into Liberty since my high school grades weren't exactly stellar...but the higher they make the standards now the more valuable my degree becomes...so I say more power to them

Why now? Why not 20 years ago?

Because we were trying to get as many students here as possible.

I don't know how many of you have seen Scott Stadium at UVA. (I think they may be starting a football team... What else would it be used for?) When I have driven up north to get out of the "burg" for a night, on occasion I have driven around the campus up there. For a small stadium (only 60,000) it is a nice place. I spoke with Barber for a minute during the spring game and told him how much I liked the pergola with Jeffersonian columns at UVA and he told me that it was "in the works" for Liberty.

In terms of the Vines Center - the addition will add 3,000 capacity to the current setup. Keeping in mind that Liberty is currently utilizing remote locations in Demoss, Towns, & TRBC, this is adding real capacity for several years at least. I will admit, I am a little disappointed that it is not a more significant improvement. It will look nice, however.
