hey, i have a great idea. lets just inject an RFID chip into every LU student for easy identification. (say, right hand or forehead for ease of use) then they can jsut walk past scanners on the way into convo. VOILA! easy tracking of the cattle...er... students.

This is just going to cause way more hassle than it should. Every single commuter student will try to find a way to get out of going which will cause a crap ton of paperwork which will have to get done by someone meaning that person couldn't be working on things that actually mattered. Just leave it the way it is.

You'd need too many readers. They can only read the chips but so fast. Too expensive.

And no, I am not overlooking what you intended to be the obvious problem.

Haha...truthfully, all it would need to say is "Don't be stupid, use common sense, and you'll be fine." 4 years on campus, 8 total reprimands (1 for 8 minutes late to Convo, 1 for 12 minutes late, 4 for working and not bringing the RA a note explaining this, 1 b/c some idiot forgot to wash the dishes in the quad, and 1 more for that same reason...$0 paid in fines).

When I tore the arch of my foot I wore shorts because I was in a boot. I was stopped by an RA who wanted to know why i had shorts on......

The Liberty Way is well and good, however, I don't really like how they apply it to visitors. Sure, we don't want half dressed high schoolers running around drinking beer at CFAW, but there's something called leeway and from what I've seen Student Conduct doesn't allow it. I had a friend visiting the university. He met me for lunch in DeMoss. Halfway through lunch an RA approached him about being out of dress code (he was wearing shorts). He told him he was a visitor and the RA proceeded to inform me that I'm responsible for the attire of my guest who needs to be adequately informed of the dress code... wow, really? That's the number one way to recruit if I do say so myself.
