well i could launch into an exegetical discussion on all of the exact points i agree with and my precise reasoning for agreeing with each aforementioned and enumerated point. where upon at said time I would then create an outline and bullet points laying them out for all to see in an informative and easy to read and understand format so that the progression of logical points might be easily comprehended by the average high school reader as well as the average college reader - which after months of dorm life and paper writing has had their cognitive skills degraded to the point that they are barely able to function aside from the scheduled imbibement of caffeine containing substances directly into their bloodstream either by ingestion or injection.

in worse scenarios, it would even be recognizable to graduate students who, after having their mental faculties degraded by almost 2 decades of schooling, are barely able to recognize normal speech and literature when they see it, let alone slang terminologies used by the common man and young people. therefore, in order to forego all of the difficulties and frustrations associated with the above named processes and premises...

i was talking to a LU student and a kid who went to my high school and he does not like the choice because he said stein is a not a true believer. can anyone verify?? he also made the comment that anyone who is not a christian should not be able to speak at LU. i personally found this as misguided, but just want opinions. i think JLF Jr. did his homework and if he thought the choice would affect LU negatively, i do not think he would have made this selection. opinions please!

Ben Stein is Jewish.

however, he's still a good choice as commencement speaker for LU:
he knows a TON about economics. (Vermont wanted him to speak there solely for is economical knowledge, but the students reacted VERY badly to the pick because of his creationist stance which is primarily why we got him.

the situation actually reminds me of exactly how Ritchie McKay became available b/c he was "too Christian" and we jumped on the chance to have him here. (in light of recent event whether we should of or not is an entirely separate matter...)

i think Liberty wants to become the ultamite place for conservative pop culture icons figures, and with that goal, ben stein really makes a lot of sense if the rumors are true that Sarah Palin and Tony Dungy fell through.

if we Dont pick either conservative politicians or sports figures than its a VERY short list of Hollywood conservatives.
Ben Stein is the closest thing to that level of hollywood icon not named chuck norris out there right now.

Stein has been pretty wrong in his economic opinions lately. He was all about the Fed pumping as much money as possible and crazy bailouts. He also urged buying financials for months. For his sake I hope he didn't do that.
