It's worth it simply for the burgers and chicken you can get.

He's just mad because he's not tall enough to get free samples without an adult.

sam's club is awesome for people who eat a whale's worth a food a day, for large families who have to buy a ton of stuff at the grocery store every week, and small businesses (can buy office supplies in bulk locally), but for the average college student I don't really see how it's generally worth the membership unless they just like to have gigantic jars of mayo and other abnormally large sizes of food...

There is more to Sam's than just food: check out their clothes, books, CDS/DVDs, electronics, etc.

You can go in and get big things of chicken, burgers, etc (any type of meat) and freeze it and it's much cheaper than getting it at the grocery store.

my roommate and I freshmen year got a Sam's membership and bought all sodas and snacks and sold them on the hall...now we didn't make a ton of money or anything, but did make enough to have some extra money

Anybody ever need a set of tires? That can pay for a couple of years membership.

The cost of a membership for the entire year was more than worth it considering what I just saved on a TV. I haven't purchased much else from them this year, but yeah. Worth it.

Scorcho, agreed--one major purchase (TV, stereo, computer, tires, etc) makes the membership worth it.

Who said two years? A bag of chicken has at most 16 chicken breasts. Say a house/apartment of three guys go in together and get that. It's $6/person. That lasts 2-3 weeks easily.
