Anyone know where the cheapest place in the burg is for an oil change? I normally do it myself but can't get to the filter well and would rather just pay to get it done quickly so I don't have to deal with it.

I think the Jiffy Lube in Forest is offering a $19.95 oil change every day now to compete with the Goodyear Tire Center next door, which has a similar (but maybe slightly lower) price. Goodyear claims the cheapest oil change in town. They're on 221 just after Play It Again Sports.

Dont go to Goodyear...my brother in law was getting his oil changes there and something went wrong with his engine. Took it to the BMW dealer to get his warranty work done and they said they couldnt honor the warranty b/c the oil has never been changed. He showed them all the receipts so they honored it and then went after them.

Maybe they've changed....but they are still the cheapest in town so something tells me maybe they havent.

Harris Tire was pretty cheap, but it depends on if you have the oil and the oil filter already. $15.00 if you have those things.

Try to find a coupon on a kroger reciept or somewhere, they usually have pretty good deals. Or, if you know any willing ladies, Midas has a cheap price for the chicks one day a week, it's like $16 or something like that.

you guys are seriously paying money for someone to rotate your tires? That is beyond pathetic. The only people that should be doing that are quadriplegics and women who aren't strong enough to lift a tire. And I doubt there are many quadriplegics who have cars.

Tire rotation should be a throw-in with your oil change. $20 seems very excessive but if that is the only business you brought them that day I wouldn't be surprised.

i don't have the tools here to do it. a regular car jack won't get my truck off the ground, and i'd rather pay 20 then spend an hour and a half changing oil and stuff. plus like i said i can't get to my oil filter. its just much easier to pay because i don't have the time or tools to mess with it

Seriously thats the one thing Im willing to pay for...if they are not balanced correctly then the wear on those tires will cost you much much more then a simple oil change and tire rotation....sure there are a lot of people who change their own oil....but rotate your own tires? Youre in the minority with that one...and anyways they do it for free wherever you buy your tires

Balancing is not rotating. Balancing takes some heavy equipment that no individual will have. But rotating? That's just putting the front tires in the back and the back tires in the front. And swapping sides for the front 2 that are now in the back. All you need is a jack and a spare. It takes maybe 15 mintues.

I just passed by a Meineke here in Houston that was advertising oil change & tire rotation for $15. But I'm not sure if you guys have one in the 'Burg.

There's one in Forest, on 221 very near the Goodyear and Jiffy Lube. I don't recommend them, though, unless you want to drop your car off or wait a few hours.

Two years ago I got my oil changed and tires rotated at Meineke for $15 with my student ID... he also tried to sucker me into getting my brakes worked on (I had the brake pads changed and other stuff the week before.)

Most places will try to upsell you. Oddly enough, Goodyear never did that to me. I asked for an oil change, I got an oil change and that was it.
