Not alot, but its still better than nothing.
If every graduating class gave $57,000... you'd be pretty poor, pretty quickly.

I'm giving back to LU today for the first time since I graduated in '89. I worked hard for and received a great education, and that was in addition to being a part of an awesome student body. I was there because of the financial sacrifice of my parents as well as thousands of others who probably had never even been to Lynchburg. I am so grateful for LU...and for what the Lord has done and is doing there. Go Flames!

This alumni support process takes time, like decades. Think Thomas Jefferson as an underclassman at William and Mary and you start measuring centuries!

I could look at a $12 gift with scorn....or get motivated to make sure mine is not $0.

i agree as well. if I ever donate to LC, it will be specifically stated for only one single department on the campus (athletic department) and that's it. why? because that's where my heart is.

Did some things during undergrad suck? Absolutely. There's plenty of things I wish that were different. However, even though I was a Christian before I got here, this school changed my life for the better. I had opportunities here that I never would've had somewhere else. I was able to meet people and do things here that wouldn't have happened at other places. Because of that, and because of what this school means to me, I want to give back as much as I can so that other kids can have the same if not better opportunities than I had. Granted, right now the only way I can give back is through my time and work with the LUnatics but eventually I'll have a steady job with a steady income and will be able to give back in other ways. People ask all the time why I started the LUnatics and why we're so passionate about having fun at the games and keeping things clean and why we do all of the stuff that we do. I tell them that athletics is what got me at this school and I never know who is going to be at a game but if the way me and my friends act at a game can sell a kid on coming to this school then all of the time, effort, and money is worth it. Some people can give back monetarily. Some people can donate goods or land. Others can only donate their time and their work. Whatever it is, it all helps and it all means something. I know Mallet or ALUmnus or someone is going to make a sarcastic joke about taking this too seriously because that's what they do, but there's a reason some of us care so much about this school. It may not have been something special to you, but it was special to us.
