I think that a lot of people think you will be able to watch the concert from the lake, but that's not the case. The concerts will be in a field across from the entrance to Mariners Landing on Rt. 626 (Smith Mountain Lake Parkway), the road that goes to the state park. It's not close to the water, so you'd have to come there by car. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the concerts, should be good for the area.

By the way, I'm sort of new here. I am a student at UVA but am from the Lynchburg area and like to keep up with what goes on at Liberty, and go to concerts there. I finally decided to give in and register.

Virginians usually call it "Buggs Island Lake."
North Carolinians call it "Kerr Reservoir."

Since most of the lake lies in Virginia, you'd think that Virginia would name it, but NC got to name the lake after a former NC politician. Go figure.

ha, ha...that's how the guy pronounced his last name. I guess us NC folk figured if we were gonna name it after him, we should probably say it the way he does.
