Sounds like HMO's type of restaurant (because of the food & atmosphere, NOT the wine list).

I have eaten there a 1/2 dozen times It is absolutely fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend the macaroni and cheese side dish. TRUST me on this one. It is made with all white cheezes  The steaks are great. The manager of the place actaully was a Mid Atlantic hot shot for Ruth's Chris so he still uses those suppliers. The best way to summarize it is to say it makes the Crown Sterling look like Burger King. It is pricier then CS but WELL worth it. The filet is nice but don't be shy of the NY Strip either! ANy more questions, jsut let me know

Yes. But not very active. I should do more because we travel a fair amount. Can only handle so many boards, etc. and still work.

The wine list was about the only thing I had good there!!! Ha...kidding kidding

seriously though it was one of the worst steaks I've ever had...and for $45 bucks??? come on....although I have gotten the Salmon there and it was great...I just dont recommend the steaks...they were supposed to be as good as Ruth's Chris since the chief worked there or something...wronggggggg

but the other items are ok...but you can give me main street eatery any day over that! & 1/3 the price...

Although it is a good atmosphere, you dont feel like your in lynchburg any more...

is that pizza place open yet down there?

Edit: I didnt read purples post...I guess I'll give the steak another shot...the mac and cheese was good...they had some other things that were nice to get at an upscale place like that...I'll try again :)

You really need to go to Main Street before you leave town as well as Dish...IMO Dish blows everything out the water locally and it's a small plate type place so you can try several things...please go there for me...you'll be glad you did 8) and all of these places are a 20 second drive or a 5 minute walk if you feel up to it from where your staying

I was wondering this too. It seemed like I saw they put a sign up on the building like a year ago. It intrigued me but I've yet to see it open. Get on the ball!

We ate there our last trip last Fall and really liked it. Can't remember all we got but it was about 6 plates and we were stuffed. Very cool. We really try to hit the local places and not the chains on Wards Rd. I also want to try the new place next to Randolph College that used to be Shadds or something like that.

I did read the trains going by the hotel can be noisy. We'll see about that part.

You know how some places the main dish is awesome, but the salad or dessert or something isn't quite up to par.....NOT at Millstone Tea Room!!! Everything from the salad to dessert is without a doubt the best I've ever had.....anywhere.
