Yeah, right! Way to ruin a perfectly good out of control thread and try to get it back on topic! My best guess is a rot expansion.

Just an observation and something we used to do back in the day. :oldhag
But remember on most if not all college campuses some degree of walking is inevitable.
And I don't have a problem with walking....we have over 10,000 students now, of course its going to be crowded...as Jon as touched on, it would be nice if there was a better place to walk...and as I said, even if they just smoothed the pit out it wouldn't be so bad...some of us don't have trucks or SUV's to go 4 wheeling through the pit everyday...

Those 2 reasons have always been my reasoning for not wanting to park there....not the walking park....well, sometimes its the walking, but most days its not, haha

The walking is fine if there was a safe, convenient sidewalk or something. There just isn't. You've got to either walk on the hill and get hit by cars, or walk down by the baseball field and then try to cross that road, go down a hill, and not get hit by someone racing for a parking spot.

A big problem generally has been all the on-campus students that prefer to DRIVE to class.

I agree, but to most current students that's blasphemy.

Come to my office. There's currently a spare cubicle where you could plug in the laptop and do your LUnatic business.

Not you guys here, but believe me when I say that I've heard from plenty of kids who hate walking at LU. I mean, ten years ago when I started school here there was only Main Campus and I still remember people driving to class. They didn't want to have to walk "all the way to Demoss".

There's no bus from David's Place and we need more buses.

I was a commuter for 3 years, and every semester it was always worse trying to park the first month or so. Then so many people start skipping class and stuff that it's not too bad any more.

It's always really bad the first week because freshmen and on-campus kids take so many of the parking spaces. Then they start getting ticketed and it gets better, but not great. Then, like Jon said, kids start skipping and spots open up.

It doesn't help that half the spots are taking by construction crap.

I found it funny that when I got on campus at 8:45 (as I have everyday this week) there were plenty of spots in the marriot parking lots...looking like people are skipping Friday's already...
