Sly Fox wrote:Actually pizza is derived from a dish referred to as Pissa back to the 800s AD. While 19th & 20th Century Italian-Americans popularized the NY & Chicago styles most of us enjoy today, their basis dates back many centuries in Italy.

I know it is very fashionable to claim pizza is not an Italian creation, the facts say otherwise.
Yet SLY you state yourself that we are talking about two different creations. A pizza like Papa Johns is most def. of American descent. Now if you are eating say a flat bread pizza or ciabatta pizza, that is more along the lines of historical pizza. BUT that is not what is being discussed. Ledo's pizza is American Pizza etc. So we need a line of differentiation

Ledo's in Lynchburg?
That is great news - I lived on that stuff in college at MD at the original restaurant.
I have had a few pies from the franchises in MD and they were all good.
This pizza is different, thin almost pie-style crust and sweet sauce.
Most people love it although there are a few haters.......

I got a pizza from Ledo's tonight. The sauce isn't my favorite, but they have by-far the best toppings in Lynchburg. The crust is good too.

I KNEW someone of your intelligence would come around to proper thinking. And let's be honest, when DOESN"T a pizza sound good? But there are times when Chicken Manicotti doesn't sound appealing

Mrs. Cider and I made our first visit to Ledo's yesterday. I got their hot Italian sub, and she ordered a chicken/mushroom calzone. We we both very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and can't wait to go back and order some pasta and pizza next. Has anyone tried their BBQ chicken or their Buffalo chicken pizza?

(And you can get a haircut next door for only $7.99).

Made my 2nd trip to Ledos this week. Got carry out pizza: BBQ chicken for $11 for a medium. Excellent pizza! Hoping to try their pasta next week.
