Too bad LU couldn't get them on the schedule. Being an ODU Alumna, I would have loved that road trip :)

They wanted us to go down there with no return game, yeah I don’t think so.

School me...Why is that a problem?? How do the games work? Doesn't the host team pay the visiting team to come, or something like that??

Generally speaking when I-AAs/FCS schools play one another they sign contracts where one year they play at one school and the next they play at the other. ODU acts as if their startup program really doesn't need to play nice with other schools since they plan on jumping to I-A/FBS as soon as they are eligible. It is the arrogance of their administrators that angers many FCS schools.

Sly hit it. If ODU would have agreed to play us in Lynchburg one year in exchange for us going down there one year, I'm sure that could have been worked out. But we're not going to go play down there with nothing in return.

Gotcha. I'm surprised that they aren't playing any CAA schools their first year, since they mention wanting to eligible for the playoffs in '09.
