In the AL, Griffey could continue for at least 5 more seasons with a move to DH. Even with a few injuries along the way (they are likely to occur), he would be a lock to pass Babe Ruth and would have a shot of passing Bonds*.

The Sox are saying he is going to be playing center. Uh, I'm not sure if that is such a good idea, but being a Cubs fan, I say go for it!

Griff probably insisted on the centerfield position as part of his not exercising his no trade clause. But I agree that he'd be an awesome DH. Then again, I have Thome on my fantasy roster.

this deal sucks for me, growing up a cubs and Mariners fan, Griffey used to be my favorite player back in the day, I remember being in class in 7th grade and alot of the kids almost crying with the teacher as we watched it get announced he went to the reds, and I always get tickets to see him at wrigley, but now I cant respect him for the next few months as hes a player for the team I despise the most. Black pin stripes are just hideous.

01LUGrad, Im not sure if you live in the chicago area or anything, but this was national news, so maybe you heard about it, but this last weekend there was a birthday part for a 2 year old and they invited a neighbor who was a sox fan, and some of the family showed up that is huge Cubs fans. They started arguing, as the kept drinking, and eventually the three cubs fans beat the sox fan nearly to death. Good times.
