I think this is a great move for the Yankees. They fill a need a huge hole with a future hall of famer. While Pudge is certainly on the back side of his career, he should fit in well in New York. I just don't get why the Tigers would make this move. Farnsworth can be great at times but he's pretty inconsistent. From the perspective of a Sox fan, I'm not exactly thrilled by this.

My favorite Kyle Farnsworth moment from his days as a Cub:

I still wish the O's would have signed I-Rod instead of Javy Lopez.

The Tigers desparately needed relief pitching, and they kept Brandon Inge around just for a situation like this. Compared to the last few seasons, Pudge is having a pretty good year, but as an offensive weapon, he's expendable. The only thing I'm worried about is how the pitching staff will handle losing him.
