So this choice has been out there for a while now but I guess it's more official now (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3479195). And it's hit pretty close to home for this college bball fan as Uconn was right in the mix for him up until the end. Talk about dodging a bullet by missing out on this guy. But will this become a growing trend? Can't go to the NBA? don't want to put up with academics? Want money now? Go to Europe for a year. This could very well solve the problem of 1 year players in college, or it may not catch on at all. It should be pretty interesting in the future.

This is a significant case in college basketball. I think you're going to see this become the norm until they remove the age restriction on jumping to the pros or make it three years of college instead of one.

I think it's going to become a huge thorn in the NBA's side. These HS prospects that are "can't miss" are going to go overseas and some are going to flop...removing their status from the NBA.

However, some have made a name for themselves. Trajon Langdon, of Duke and then the Cavs, has become a major player in a league overseas. It's interesting to say the least.

well, i know several coaches have come out and said they don't expect this to turn in to a trend. of course, that's what they want to happen...
