So Samford goes from being the whipping boy in the OVC to the SC.

He's in Destin this week or near it. The same city that showed the Truman show. Samford will get smoked this year in football. I think they actually play at App

Mr. Sparrow informed me that I was missed on here. We don't share a computer anymore so I don't see your forum on my screen every day.
You want my take, you got it (and you can have some piece of mind by knowing that I won't be back to post on here until I'm summoned again.)
Anyway, I'll be the first to admit that the first few years will be a tough adjustment, as it is for most teams moving to a new conference, but our football program is on upward climb very similar to the one your program has made over the past few years.
1. We have a second-year coach Pat Sullivan (who happens to be a heisman trophy winner ) who has provided an overdue spark to the team to generate new support throughout the greater b'ham area.
2 We are attracting and signing recruits who are more talented than any class we've had since Terry Bowden took us to the national semifinals in 1991, and we're accepting 1A transfers on par with the talent that Bobby used to siphon from Bama.
3.We have started work on a new,three-story fieldhouse to compliment our new arena.
Contrary to what ESPN will tell you, there is more to life than football(I know that's considered blasphemy to many of you).
As for our athletic dept as a whole, we've fielded very competitive baseballl, softball and men's and women's basketball teams.
Our ladies were dominant across the board and won our second consecutive All-Womens sports championship for the second-straight season in the OVC, so our program was anything but an OVC bottom-feeder.
You can make all the "SoCon whipping boy" jokes you want, but I'm thrilled to join a nationally-recognized conference that features other fine institutions with solid reputations for balancing academics and athletics, and that won't change, regardless of our football record.
Of course, our high APR scores and continuously improving national academic rankings (#27 in the nation according to Forbes Magazine's CCAP Rankings) will also promote our positive reputation.
P.S.- Superjon, I miss our old fights.
Take care everyone.

I don't think Samford will be the whipping boy for the entire SoCon...they should at least beat Chattanooga, maybe WCU too.
