Second-guessing Bobby Cox.

I love Bobby, but I have to second-guess him on tonight's game. Down 4-1 in the bottom of the 9th - Tiexiera hits a two-run home to bring the game to 4-3. Next up, Brian McCann with a single. Then, Omar Infante with a sac bunt. Runner to second, one outs.. Then, Francouer grounds out, but the runner advances to third, two outs. Next up, rookie Brandon Jones gets the intentional walk. On the corners, two outs... pitcher spot up. Bobby goes with back-up catcher and a solid .103 hitting Corky Miller.

Why not bring in Chipper to pinch hit? I understand he's hurt (what's new), but he did the exact same thing a few nights ago and got the big hit to tie the game. He hobbled down to first a few nights ago, he should be able to do it again. Then you pinch run if his hit ties it, and if he hits it into the gap, he doesn't even have to run. Plus you have Greg Norton still on the bench who plays third anyway. If you don't want to risk it with Chipper, pinch hit with Norton - at least he's been known to get the solid game-winning hit. Not Mr. .103 Corky Miller.

End Rant.

Bobby is loyal to his vets. If anything, he should of PH'ed for Francouer. He's completely forgot how to hit.

Corky's not a vet. He's old, but this is his first season up I think. He's pretty much a career minor-leaguer. Francoeur was 2/4 tonight... I'd rather have him up than Corky Miller. Chipper should have hit.

I agree with Medic regarding the state of the Braves, not so much on the mouth-to-mouth giving.

That being said, every manager blows games. They look like goats, and then turn around and "win" one for the team the next day. (Can you believe a Cubs fan just mentioned a goat?) While we're at it, Lou blew one tonight, taking out a scorching Jim Edmunds and replacing him with Matt "ground ball" Murton, down 2 with 2 on in the 8th. Cubs lose by 2.

162 games is a lot of baseball. Sometimes the moves work, sometimes they don't.

By the way, PA, the Phillies "suk" too!

He couldn't have brought in Chipper because Chipper had already pinch hit in the 8th and got a single to bring his average back up to .395.

Hey, leave Corky alone, he is a good guy, got him to leave me some ducats for the games a couple of weeks ago in Hotlanta. He is good friends with some of our former Flames BB players. Who cares if he can't hit? It is just the Braves. :D

When I woke up and checked my fantasy team I noticed Chipper was 1/1..... and I immediately regreted posting.
