Brings back memories from the Lynchburg Mets...he's a very very interesting fellow

Nails was a one of a kind. There are a zillion stories about him. I missed him playing for the L-Mets by a couple of years.

Seriously, I'm so glad I realized something special was going on that year and made a point of going to several games. Gooden, Strawberry, Dykstra, Magadan, and a few others who made the bigs, all on the same Carolina League team. Needless to say, they didn't lose often.

No kidding Gooden struck out 300 batters as an 18 year old that year.
