Lowe told ESPN.com this week that he plans to hire former Coastal Carolina coach Pete Strickland, currently working as the varsity boys' coach for Archbishop Spalding High in Severn, Md., as his third assistant.
Monte Towe, the starting point guard for State's 1974 national championship team, is leaving his job as head coach at the University of New Orleans to be associate head coach on Lowe's new staff.
(I think Towe also was an asst at UNC-A for a couple of years).
