ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville and head men’s basketball coach Eddie Biedenbach have agreed on a new three-year contract.

The Bulldogs are coming off the best season in their history, a 23-10 record that included a share of the Big South Conference championship, a berth in the NIT and the first 10 sellouts of home games ever.

Financial terms won’t be disclosed until the school’s Board of Trustees approves the contract, which is expected to happen next month.

Biedenbach currently makes $86,309 annually on a contract that has one year remaining. Pending approval of the new contract, the last season of the coach’s current contract will be voided, making the new deal a three-year package through the 2010-11 season.

That's less $$ than the posted contract on the new Radford WBB coach!

Good for Eddie. Obviously this year was a fluke and he'll be back in the cellar next season. But at least he'll be getting paid much better.
