A Sea Of Red

Has anyone else noticed this before? Above the scoreboard on the screen, it has the batting average for each player for whatever the current count is. That thing is awesome. It starts off with the player's season average, then for every pitch it shows what they're hitting in that count.

I like it. You can really see what situations/counts everyone is best in.

I noticed that last night, too. Great stuff and I can't recall seeing it before.

I like it. I wasn't thrilled when I saw that Mike Lowell is hitting .150 after the count goes 2-2.

I didn't watch last night but that is awesome if the are doing that. I was just complaining about not seeing batting averages on every plate appearance. I like to know how players averages change during the game and what they are hitting going in.

I really like this idea. I assume you are talking about TV and not GAME CAST on the net.

Its during the broadcast...it was interesting to see that Manny batted .339 with a 1-1 count (or was it 2-1) and then he hit one to short to end the game.

I love stat splits as much as the next guy... but given how early in the season it is, aren't those stat splits basically useless given the small sample size? I mean, Mike Lowell has four registered at-bats when the count is 2-0.

At this point, they are basically useless due to the small amount of ABs but I like the idea and think it gives good information that will be interesting to see come July and later.
