LC Takes Game One of ODAC Tourney

LC defeats Hampden-Sydney 7-2. SS Ronnie LaBrie banged 3 doubles, including a BROKEN BAT double off the LCF wall. LC plays next at 3 PM Friday at City Stadium.

Ronnie LaBrie has spent the spring crushing Old Dominion Athletic Conference pitchers. Thursday, he spent part of the first inning destroying an aluminum bat.
It seems like nothing is safe when LaBrie steps to the dish these days.
The Lynchburg College shortstop ripped three doubles in the Hornets’ 7-2 win against Hampden-Sydney in Game 1 of the double-elimination tournament at City Stadium, none more impressive than his first inning knock.
On a fastball that appeared to jam him inside, LaBrie shortened up his swing and crushed the ball to left center field.
The impact was so forceful that the top popped off the bat and a huge crack formed on the bat’s barrel.
LC plays Bridgewater at 3 PM today.

Nice pick of Fumble, Jr. in the paper. The pic in the hard copy is probably at least 5X8, suitable for scrapbooking.

Fumble Jr has a great swing...I was really impressed...short compact and still hits with power...and has good speed
Yesterday was the first time I've seen him play...congrats!

Thanks...you should've come down to the 3B line boxes and said "hello."
We dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker in the 9th, yesterday...and play at 11 AM Saturday, if anyone is interested in seeing some good baseball!

Yup...they got lucky...
...but Randolph-Macon just wore us out Sat night/Sunday morning...in a game that did not start until 1015 PM and ended about 115 AM Sunday. LC must now wait to hear about a possible at-large bid.

LC will find out on May 11 about the at-large bid. Based on our #3 regional ranking, it looks very promising for the Hornets.
