The Warthogs are changing their name.

Say goodbye to the Winston-Salem Warthogs.

When the team starts play in its new $22.6 million ballpark next year, it will have a new name, new sponsors and new professional management, Billy Prim, a co-owner of the Warthogs, said yesterday.

the downtown ballpark looks to be a great deal. i know the downtown greensboro park helped revitalize their downtown. SJ, do you know if wake will move over to ernie shore??

Wake has talked about it. I don't know if anything has been decided on. I know Wake can't play night games on campus because of the dorms and how the lights would shine into them or something like that. If they want night games, they'd have to go to Ernie Shore, which is right next to the LJVM and Groves Stadium.

Yes...Wake WILL be moving over to Ernie Shore. I have a good friend who's son plays for Wake. They are supposed to be doing some nice renovations to make it more collegiate-like.

it's a good setup that football, baseball, and hoops are all within a stones throw really. just a good deal.
