QBs Eli Byrd & Sidney Bryant have left CSU and apparently the same can be said for RBs Alexius Ferguson and Reggie Ellington. Based on Saturday's Spring Game it appears we'll have some news faces to watch this fall.

Late Drive Comes Up Short As Defense Takes Spring Game 29-21

CHARLESTON, S.C. – An interception by junior Greg Tompkins in the endzone, helped the defensive squad continue their dominance in the final spring scrimmage at Charleston Southern, Saturday. The win makes it six in a row for the defensive squad as they took Saturday’s scrimmage 29-21.

The interception, which bounced up in the air after a collision with intended receiver redshirt freshman Quinton Thrash, was one of three picks recorded by the defense. Redshirt freshmen Chris Poston and Jacques Bazille also recorded interceptions in the game.

Offensively, junior A.J. Toscano and redshirt freshman Gabe Gilmour combined to throw for 438 yards on 31 completions. Toscano threw for 222 yards on 17 completions, while Gilmour had 216 yards on 14 completions. Gilmour added another 81 yards on the ground, thanks in large part to a 63-yard run around the right end to start the scoring for the day. Redshirt freshman B.J. Hackworth ran well for CSU, tallying 61 yards on 11 carries.

Their new QB was teammates with Doncel Bolt at their Cali JUCO.

Now wait just a second, these two statements are pretty contradictory:

. I think they're just trying to cover the fact that they suck on both side.

Lord, have mercy. If we don't beat CSU this year we should quit football. Should've beaten them last season, but thanks to your secondary breaking Tim Webb's neck, we had to start Grayson Mullins.

This looks like it will be another long season for the Bucs when their already thin roster gets much thinner after their trip Miami.

Not really all that bold. CSU isn't that good. When you take into consideration CSU's tough schedule and their apparent depletion at the QB and RB positions, PC should beat them by 10 at least. We're returning our studs on offense: Webb [please don't break his neck again], Worrell, Reeder, and Butler. They've gotten faster and better, as have the young kids we had to start last season. We've changed our defensive scheme and so far, the players have gotten faster and are starting to gel. Even with all the things that hurt us in the CSU game last year [slower players, inexperience, and a backup QB more antsy than a whore in Jonathan Edwards' church when he was preaching "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God"] we only lost the thing in the last 20 seconds. PC will be a much improved football team this year. Granted, we can't tell how much until we take the field, but if we want any respect in this league we're going to have to start beating CSU. Not that they're the benchmark, because they aren't, but it'll be hard to get any props if we CAN'T beat them.

Eli Byrd was about as capable to run an offense as Michael Brown was capable to run FEMA.
