All is forgiven in Red Sox Nation...

I suppose winning the WS in 2004 and 07 eases the memory of the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Game 6 in 86...
...as Bill Buckner threw out the first pitch to a standing O in the Red Sox home opener today. Classy move by the Sawx and their fans.

I'm very happy with Buckner coming back and getting an ovation. Here is a career .289 hitter with over 2,700 career hits and he's been cast as a villain for all these years. Many people don't realize that he played half of the 1987 season in Boston and played 22 more games in 1990 for the Red Sox before finally retiring. He took FAR TOO MUCH blame back in 1986. The game should never have come down to him fielding that ground ball in the first place had the bullpen done their job holding a two run lead. He just made the most obvious mistake and became the scapegoat for 18 years. I'm glad he has been forgiven.

I am glad the club asked him to come back...He has been living on a ranch in the middle of nowhere and I think that Sox fans appreciate how much pain he played with during his finally years...

Bill Buckner was forgiven by the blood I shed on Calvary. My forgiveness was the ultimate forgiveness. Red Sox Nation means nothing eternally. Dad is also a Red Sox fan so that helps too.

I don't know why you couldn't figure that out.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."
This was an obvious reference to the Red Sox.

You could have at least given me credit for saying that, Dad.

Don't start that again, Son. I'm already delivering Heaven and earth into your hand. What more do you want?
