Coach Groh just announced that J'Courtney Williams has been dismissed from the Football team.
"J'Courtney's time here has unfortunately been marked by issues which
fall below the line of what is acceptable to us. Therefore, he will
no longer be a member of our program."

UVA just can't seem to buy a brake
I don't know why. There are 3 Meineke's and an Aamco in Charlottesville alone.

Christchurch is about 3 hours from Danville... it's not to far from Richmond... He played b-ball at Faith in Hurt when he was a freshman and then finished up with the Seahorses... I was always impressed with him at the LB spot and he seemed to be a model person while he was there but has made some unwise choices over the last few months.. He never played a snap up at UVA so he is one you could go after and have a few years with in the program... It will be interesting to see what moves we make here in the next month and a half..

I hope we don't go after him.

In light of what apparently got him booted at UVa, I tend to agree with you. Possession followed a month later by credit card theft.

We're not a rehab...if he wants to enroll and get his life back on track...great! But he shouldnt represent the student body and people like Dr. Falwell on the field of athletics...we've taken to many like this in the past

Come on guys! Same discussion - different name. If this guy called and wanted to play for us...we would one - roll out the red carpet for him, and two - this board would get crazy excited to have more talent on our team. At this pace, we might as well just combine our team with UVA's now - they're not going to have enough to field a team. If I was Rocco - I would be at every UVA practice scouting:)

Not me

Again, not me.
This is not the same argument. If it's grades, that's one thing.
One slip, with shown remorse, one thing.
But this is a whole different beast.

agreed manson, this guy has made continual mistakes and we do not want that here at LU. we are becoming known to the state schools as a transfer haven, and though i have no problem with the occaisional transfer, we do not need a player like this regardless of his caliber.

Even as we are becoming known as atransfer haven smoothie, a lot of the guys that have come here have gotten themselves back on track (look at Vince Redd as an example)

BJ...hear what i am saying...williams is a multiple offender. vince redd made on emistake and had bad grades. it is clear j'courtney williams is not very mature. this guy was a probable starter this year and has let his team and coaches down. the guy never played a down for UVA. sure people make mistakes, but continual??

Redd was one guy and you're actually inflicting a pretty serious insult to all the other guys who've transferred to LU. I seriously doubt that "a lot of the guys that have come here" would have been described as "off track" to begin with.
