Big West Conference Tournament

So I was looking at the conference tourneys, and I noticed this.
Maybe its not wierd to you but I find it wied but almost cool that the number 1 and 2 teams get 2 byes

Yeah it's the same in the WCC with Gonzaga and St. Mary's getting byes to the semis. The Big East tourney next year will include all 16 teams. So the top 4 seeds will get 2 byes and the next 4 will get 1 bye, so 9-16 seeds will play the first round. If you didn't know, before this only the top 12 teams made the conference tourney. Hence! coaches got fired all the time for not making the tourney, now they will always make it.

The MEAC plays a first round game on the same day as a second round day - On paper it makes no sense
