I think they had a student or two killed up there and from what I'd read about it, the University did everything they could to keep from letting the student body know that people had been killed, etc...

Looks like the FBI is involved though.

You have this in the Non-LU Sports forum. Is there some tie to athletics? Perhaps a point fixing scandal or players involved in some nefarious crime?

Well, they didn't say what it was, and my guess is ONLY a guess, so it POSSIBLE it's connected to athletics. But we won't know until 2pm.

But, given MSU's prestigous position as a member of the Big 10, I would think that anything of this magnitude would affect their sports programs in some way, whether just bad publicity for the school or something more serious. However, I would think that if an announcement like this were to be made about a Big South school, it would be on here as well.

It's an athletic logo in that link. Maybe that's a clue? Or maybe they don't know one way or the other.

Ok, so apparently they made some arrests from a big fire started by eco-terrorists 8 years ago. Highly disappointing. I was hoping it was something much more interesting.
