according to the stats "he" did not play but his team did



This continues to be one of my biggest disappointments while following LU Basketball....if he would have just stayed not only would even greater things have happened for the program but for him as well

He played, he was just totally ineffective. Sad to see.

Yeah not even worthy putting his minutes beside his name! Talk about ineffective!

He played, he never even looked for a shot. I do feel for the kid.

His coach appears to have destroyed his confidence. I feel for David as well.

David Dees recruited by RD, played under RD. Came in the same class as Larry Blair. Had a terrific freshman and sophomore year, then left for supposedly greener pastures at Louisiana Lafayette. He is playing in his senior year there now.

he played on our team in 03-04 and 04-05. He left under somewhat bad circumstances in between him and the coach. He was very good.

I don't think good is the right word. He could have been great. The numbers he put up his first 2 years were just as good as LB's.

According to RD, Dees didn't want to play second fiddle to LB. The direct quote was something like Dees wanted to be "Batman not Robin." But leaving when he did and the little playing time he's getting down in Cajun country makes him look more like the Joker than Batman or Robin.

In hindsight, yes it was a bad decision, but he did what he thought was best for him at the time. i wish him the best in his pursuit to play professionally.

Dees was an Anthony Smith type of player but with a little more size and muscle.

I only wish Smitty had the offensive game Dees had. Besides his 3-point shooting, he was almost unstoppable posting up a smaller guard. He wasn't the defender Anthony is however.

That is a very good picture of Dees....i never saw a guard he couldn't post up.

Actually, it wasn't just guards. DD could post up against much bigger guys and take them to school with his quickness, strength and variety of little schoolyard shots, including a picture perfect hook. It's really a shame it has come to this. I wish him well.

Dees was a fun player to watch play, he was just so smooth

Whenever he would make a 3- us students would yell Deeeeeeeees nuts

Boy ol' boy the greener pasture turn into serious weeds. That is a sad commentary to what would have been a storied career. So maybe they found out in year one they couldn't win with Dees playing major minutes and probably were seeing the same things RD was in terms of demanding a higher level perfromance. Larry Blair is leading his team in scoring in Hungary wonder is Dees will be playing anywhere next year. If he would have played for RD he would have. Hard lesson: Quitters never win and winners never quit.

I am sure it is a tough time and our prayers need to be with him.

Here you go rambling on and on about how the kid made a bad decision, is a quitter, etc. then you say we should pray for him?
